A powerful desktop scanner. Can scan anything, but is especially useful for film. This is the original model which is continued today by Perfection V850 Pro with little change.

Manufacturer specs: 4800x9600dpi, 4.0 DMax, 48-bit color, 16-bit grayscale, Digital ICE. In reality a desktop scanner achieves about 2250 physical dpi on the final image, which was measured on this scanner as well. The Digital ICE (infrared scratches removal) works very well.

Cosmetic condition of the plastic is mediocre - scratches, etc. However, the glass is completely clean, and the performance is excellent.

All the holders are included. Also included is a custom-built ICC profile, making the color correction much easier. There are also other things like matte glass sheets, and scanning liquid for wet scanning, which is not included but available if you need it.

The scanner was used quite a lot for scanning 35mm and 4x5 film, negative and positive, and paper prints. It can continue to do so with great results.

Vuescan works with this scanner very well on MacOS or Windows, modern and old versions. Other software can be used as well.
