    Hello Canon photographers,

I am considering getting this lens, but wondering if anybody here who owns it has opinions about it?
    Thanks in advance

  2. I just bought one some weeks ago and used it in the Laplands fells last week. I took some photos of rock ptarmigans living high on the fells. When cropping the image it kept the resolution pretty well. When taking a landscape picture toward the sun (in the evening) some flare could be seen. Maybe caused by a skylight filter, I guess. The image stabilizer probably helped that I had no shaken pics as some pics were taken inside a cottage with little light.
So far satisfied with the quality. I used my canon body 5d mk3.

So far I am satisfied with the quality.

Thanks for you answer, I bought the lens too and despite the not so great reviews out there, I think it's a great "all round" lens. Sure it doesn't beat the 24-70 f,2.8 mk ii or any primes. But the focal range and the build quality makes it the perfect lens for a commercial shoot or a hike in nature.

  4. I totally agree...
